Functions

• implements uniform state policy of the Republic of Belarus in the field of conformity assessment;
• participates in the development of the drafts for legislative and other normative legal acts regarding conformity assessment;
• provides establishment and functioning of the National System of Accreditation of the Republic of Belarus and national System of conformity Attestation of the Republic of Belarus within its competence;
• performs accreditation or delegates functions on accreditation to accreditation body;
• develops and approves accreditation rules and conformity attestation rules, regulatory procedures and other accreditation and conformity attestation issues;
• establishes conformity attestation schemes applied during the certification of products, works, services and declaring of conformity of products;
• develops on the basis of suggestions of authorities a draft list of products, works, services and other conformity assessment objects subject to obligatory conformity attestation in the Republic of Belarus as well as alterations and (or) amendments to it;
• establishes a nomenclature of indicators controlled during the performance of works on the conformity attestation of conformity assessment objects subject to obligatory conformity attestation;
• registers organizations dealing with consulting activities in the field of quality management;
• represents, within its powers, the Republic of Belarus in international and intergovernmental (regional) organizations dealing with conformity assessment issues; concludes within its powers international agreements of inter-departmental character;
• keeps registers of the National System of Accreditation of the Republic of Belarus and the National System of Conformity Attestation of the Republic of Belarus in accordance with established procedure;
• maintains the State Cadastre of service and civilian weapons and ammunition;
• considers complaints and appeals regarding conformity assessment within its competence.
