Main terms and definitions

accreditation — a type of conformity assessment the result of which is the conformity attestation of a legal entity of the Republic of Belarus or a foreign legal entity for carrying out conformity assessment works or testing of objects of conformity assessment.

accredited testing laboratory (centre) — a legal entity of the republic of Belarus or a foreign legal entity, accredited for carrying out testing of objects of conformity assessment in specific scope of accreditation;

accredited certification body — a legal entity of the republic of Belarus or a foreign legal entity, accredited for carrying out conformity assessment works in specific scope of accreditation;

accreditation certificate — document that certifies the competence of a legal entity of the republic of Belarus or a foreign legal entity документ for carrying out conformity assessment works or testing of objects of conformity assessment in specific scope of accreditation;

applicant of accreditation — a legal entity of the republic of Belarus or a foreign legal entity that have applied an application for accridetation;

events related to procedures of accreditation — events that are carried out by the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus and осуществляемые on inspection for implementation the requirements of the National Accreditation System of the Republic of Belarus and the National System of Conformity Attestation of the Republic of Belarus by accredited certification bodies and accredited testing laboratories (centres);

The National Accreditation System of the Republic of Belarus — a complex of authorized governmental bodies, accredited certification bodies and accredited testing laboratories (centres), normative legal acts including technical normative legal acts in the field of technical regulation and standardization specifying procedures of accreditation and the functioning of the system in whole;

scope of accreditation — scope of activity in which accredited certification body and accredited testing laboratory (centre) is provided a right for carrying out works of conformity attestation or testing objects of conformity assessment;

accreditation body — governmental body subordinated to the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus to which in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Belarus are delegated functions for accreditation;

the register of the National Accreditation System of the Republic of Belarus — a complex of data on issued accreditation certificates, introduction of modifications and (or) amendments to them, suspension, renewal, withdrawal, termination, prolongation of their action
