One of the main directions of national standardization development is the involvement of private and public sector organizations in standardization work.

The need for their participation in the development of standards is justified by the fact that through the requirements of standards there is an opportunity to promote their technical policy, because today a standard is used as a tool to win the market.

Works on interstate standardization, preparation of the position of the Republic of Belarus are currently organized and carried out in accordance with the Agreement on a coordinated policy in the field of standardization, metrology and certification, legislation of the Republic of Belarus, basic standards of the inter-state standardization system.

The clause 4.3.2 of GOST 1.4-2020 "Interstate Standardization System. Interstate technical committees for standardization. Establishment and operation rules" determines that the ITC shall include one representative from the states participating in this ITC, regardless of the status of these states in this ITC.

Interest in ITC activities implies participation in the development of interstate standards, review of their drafts, participation in ITC meetings, etc.
