Improving the quality and competitiveness of automotive products is largely ensured by the application of the requirements of the UN Rules, developed under the “Agreement concerning the adoption of harmonized technical united nations regulations for wheeled vehicles, equipment and parts which can be fitted and/or be used on wheeled vehicles and the conditions for reciprocal recognition of approvals granted on the basis of these united nations regulations.”

The fulfillment of the requirements of these documents for the development and production of vehicles helps to ensure a high level of their safety, environmental protection, fuel efficiency and protection of vehicles against illegal actions, as well as reducing the variety of regulatory requirements in the field of safety and environmental parameters of vehicles.

The Republic of Belarus joined the “Agreement concerning the adoption of harmonized technical united nations regulations for wheeled vehicles, equipment and parts which can be fitted and/or be used on wheeled vehicles and the conditions for reciprocal recognition of approvals granted on the basis of these united nations regulations” in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of December 3, 1994 No. 247.

The UN regulations are adopted as governmental standards of the Republic of Belarus.

For our country, the main area of activity in the field of UN Rules is to maintain the UN Rules adopted as governmental standards in an up-to-date state.
